TradeSim Installation Instructions

New Installation of TradeSim

• Once you have downloaded the SetupTradeSim.exe file into a location on your harddisk you can install TradeSim by running the SetupTradeSim.exe program by double clicking on it from the Windows Explorer. Alternatively you can select the "Run" menu item from the Windows "Start" menu and browse and select the SetupTradeSim.exe file from the appropriate directory.
• Please read the section below regarding the Installation of the Metastock External Formula Library.
• Once TradeSim has been installed you should read the chapter in the TradeSim User Manual on Software Installation on how to register the software. To view the User Manual you will need the Adobe Acrobat Version 4 or later.

Upgrading an existing installation of TradeSim

• If TradeSim is already installed on your computer and you wish to reinstall TradeSim or upgrade to a later version then you can install TradeSim over the top of an existing installation without having to uninstall the current version.
• If you are reinstalling or updating a current installation you will not need a new license key.
• Please read the section below regarding the Installation of the Metastock External Formula Library.

  Installation of the Metastock External Formula Library

• If after TradeSim has been installed and the computer doesn't require rebooting the installer will automatically launch the installation program for the Metastock External Formula Library.
• If after you have installed TradeSim and the installation program requires you to reboot your computer then the Metastock external formula library will not have been installed. In this case you will have to manually install the library yourself. To reinstall or update the library you will need to run the formula set-up program FOsetup.exe, which is installed in the TradeSim program directory. To run FOsetup.exe just run FOsetup.exe from the TradeSim program menu, ie. [Start -> Programs -> TradeSim Metastock Add-ons -> Metastock Formula Setup] Then follow the setup instructions.

  Registering the software

• Please consult the TradeSim User Manual for the exact details on how to register the software. Note for TradeSim Version 3.0.0 a new registration scheme has been employed. Registered users who are upgrading to Version 3.0.0 will require a new license file to be created. Please re-register your software by filling out your details on the software registration page.
