View Full Version : MetaStock Training mode

I would like to write a "C++" routine to act in a "Training Mode", similar to Advanced GET, ie enter a date and have the chart display to that date, and no more. Then, at the press of a key, advance the chart one period. This would give the operator time to think about what he/she would do on the next day, and then test that decision.
I would appreciate any help I could get on how to start on this project.
Thank you!!

Hi Hank,
I have version 9.0 of MetaStock and it is quite easy to carry out the process you mention.
To set the date of the last bar in view on the RHS of the chart (page 117 of MS User Manual):-
a) You can change the properties on the x-axis by right-clicking directly on the chart's x-axis OR by choosing X-Axis from the Format menu.
b) Under Displayed change the Last Date to the date required and click OK.
To scroll a chart by only a single bar hold down the SHIFT key when clicking on a charts horizontzl scroll buttons (Learn as You Plot page 86 of MS User Manual).
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob,,,
Thanks for your help.
My approach once again proved the old adage...
"There MUST be a harder way"
