Hi

I'm encountering a problem with metastock after downloading the new dll file.

When restarting metastock after the download was prompted that the indicator builder file needed to be updated. During the update mswin crashes when this process reaches "recompiling custom indicator source code". Some of my custom indicators call trade sim external functions.

You wouldn't be using Version 8 of Metastock by any chance?

No only v 7.0

I'm using V 8.01 and am not having any problems with the new .dll--at least not yet!!

Unfortunately I installed the new dll over the old. I have just tried to re-install the old v4.0.0 dll file by re-running the metastock add-on component in the tradesim setup. This won't work as it appears to go through the same process of updating the indicator file and crashes without adding the dll to the metastock directory/external function folder ..... does this mean my indicator file is now corrupted?

You may have to reinstall Metastock.

Copying the dll into the required directory should not have caused this problem.
