This is posted on another thread.
As the Forum is headed Trading Systems and due to the months of work that is recorded on REEFCAP for all who have an inclination to read up-------I thought it worth posting as a seperate entity,as Im sure it will help those looking for a template to work by.

With the help of Tradesim and that of many others we set out to see if it was actually possible to develope a longer term systematic trading methodology and trade it live on the net.

We have been doing this now for 10mths and have succeeded in a 15% return currently which is 45% return on our investment trading Margin of 30K(Current capital $115K or 15K on the 100K available)

In less than favorable times.

There are lenghty posts on REEFCAP explaining both developement and current trading.

This is NOT the only method I know of which is profitable.
OPM and STEVE on the same forum have designed a very good weekly method using Bollingerbands as a base.

Just an update as I havent visited here for ages.

Techtrader had a 31% return in its first year traded live on Reefcap.
and currently shows around 40% on the full 18 or so months.

This represents around 75% return on capital used for trading margin.

Many have adopted their own version.

Perhaps if anyone else has been successful with their Tradesim developed method they could post it here.

This is a long term method,I would personally like to see a shorter term profitable method.

Hi
Again.

Just another update.

Techtrader has completed its second year of live trading.

Results for the 2 yrs are now 84% return.
We started with $30K on margin which gave us around 100K to trade.
Current bank is $184K.

Thats a return of 280% on our initial capital.

Ive been trading the method for 18 mths and my own returns are similar.
A few others also have traded/are trading varitions of their own with similar results.

As far as we know this is one of the longest running live trading of a system for public veiwing we know of.

Personally I think the method is average but does the job well.
Always looking to refine but nothing of much interest since the original.
Certaintly no complaints on the return.

"David--
Techtrader has been developed using TRADESIM.
After 4 years of live trading I'm pleased to
report that the initial $30,000 traded on Margin
reached $402,000 at close of trade on 22/12/06

Development of Techtrader couldn't have been possible
without Tradesim, the wealth of information from testing
supplies a "Blueprint" for any method and has proven
to be very accurate with regard to the simulated results
and the actual results from trading Techtrader over 4 yrs.

A continuing complete history can be found here for those
interested http://lightning.he.net/cgi-bin/suid/~reefcap/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=74;t=000029;p=5

Keep up the great work.

A few have asked how T/T is doing in these markets.

Being a Long/Long term trend following system its trading poorly in these times.
It did however exit all positions quite a while back.
I have continued to trade it on "The Chartist" in frequently more as an exercise to show the futility of trading a method in conditions its not designed for.

Many have discussed switches I know Jose uses one on some of his methods,as do others.

In these conditions we should have been net short to trade the trend OR shortening our timeframe.
Neither are covered with T/T.
I will be trading with T/T again when a bull market appears to have returned.
This ofcourse could be quite sometime.
