Hi David--

I occaisionally need to run 10-year back tests with hundereds of stocks that can generate anywhere between 100,000 - 200,000 trades to be analyzed. This wasn't a problem with the previous version of TradeSim, but now no matter how hard I try, there are only 16,000 trades in the data base. Is there a new limit on the number of trades, or is there some variable that I ahve to adjust?

Thanks
Rick Martin

A little more info that might help. I tried deleting all the old .trb files and reran everything and still came up with 16,000 trades in the data base. I then went to the Explorer and deleted my list of almost 600 stocks and re-added it and everything worked fine again--all 168,734 trades showed up and TradeSim is happily processing them as I write this.

Hope this helps if there is a bug hiding somewhere in the code.

Hello Rick

Not wanting to pass the buck this sounds more like a bug in Metastock. There should be no limit to the number of records in the trade database. It sounds like Metastock was limiting the number of records per security until you deleted the list and reinserted it again.
