I have recently upgraded to version 9.01 of MetaStock and the Beta version of the TS dll appears to be causing an error within MS.

The reason I think it is the TS.dll is because MS in its error report has it listed as the cause.

When I go back to the final release of the dll
(takes about 3 hrs - as I need to uninstall and reinstall both MS and TradeSim 3-4 times and reboot inbetween - if only I could pinpoint the exact sequence required to completely erase the new dll.... Oh well a question for another time) MS v9.01 works like it always has with TS.

Is there something that I should be aware of that would allow me to use the new dll (Would prefer to use it as it has in profit only exits in it). Would upgrading to Metastock v9.1 assist or should I go back to v7? :?:

Operating system is Windows XP.

Thanks,
Pat

The DLL is usually installed in the following directory. 'C:\Program Files\Equis\MetaStock\External Function DLLs'

If you want to keep your existing DLL then make a copy of TradeSim.dll and save it in another directory. To restore the DLL just copy the saved one it back over to this directory. Make sure that MS is not running when you are doing this.

We are fixing this problem once and for all in the next release where we have moved the windowed components in the plugin to TradeSim
