View Full Version : stop with "or" statement
I have a stop as below (ExitTrigger) but when I look at the results I see losses greater than 25% which the first line of code should avoid. Is this
code wrong or am I looking at the results incorrectly?
Thanks for the input.
((((EntryPrice-C)/EntryPrice)*100)>25)
OR
(Fml("Stop2")>0)

For a 25% stop (ouch!), try this:
percentage:=25;
stop:=EntryPrice*(1-percentage/100);
exit:=stop OR Fml("Stop2")>0;

Thanks Jose, got it to work, everything over 25% are gaps which I
can't get rid of.
The 25% isn't really that bad - its a weekly signal - here the results
Trades Taken: 115
Total Net Profit: $187,280.40
Average Trade Profit: $1,628.53
Maximum Trade Profit: $18,051.23
Minimum Trade Profit: ($3,355.22)
Break Even Trades: 1
Winning Trades: 76
Losing Trades: 38
Percent Profitable: 66.09%
Average Winning Trade Profit: $2,740.80
Average Losing Trade Profit: ($553.17)
Average Trade Duration: 138 (days)
After I downloaded the tradesim results and charting found that
after a 25% drawdown the stock rarely comes back to a profit so
I figure, why bother.
Now to see if this really works in real time.
Thanks again.
